The problem addressed in the text concerns an attempt to show the relationship between learning about educational reality (pedagogy) and its change/innovative activity (pedagogical innovation, pedagogy of innovation). It indicates the possible relations of combining these two perspectives. Innovation-oriented general pedagogy is the perspective of how the theory of upbringing and teaching can actively shape educational processes in the face of rapid civilisational change.
