Wisdom and Respect in Social Action

Abstract

The meaning of social action is consistent with the principles of humanism, in which the fundamental value is the human being and his or her well-being. It is of utmost importance to acknowledge human dignity, the significance and value of interpersonal relationships, and the right to development. They are essential for assisting the person, particularly in a difficult situation. Values that are crucial for social action are wisdom in the actions taken and respect for the specific task, as well as treating the recipient as a subject. The importance of these values, whose implementation illustrates the complexity of human actions, is the social project called the Noble Gift (Szlachetna Paczka), through which a person establishes a relationship with a person experiencing hardship in their social environment.
