The Ideal Educational Method According to Ludwika Jeleńska as an Opportunity to Overcome the Crises of Adolescence

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to demonstrate that Ludwika Jeleńska’s (1885–1961) educational method of the ideal can inspire contemporary educators in the process of supporting young people in constructively overcoming the crises of adolescence. The considerations are part of pedagogical research in which the method of analysis and criticism of sources is used. First, the person and achievements of L. Jeleńska are presented. Next, Ludwika Jeleńska’s ideal educational method is characterised. The next part characterises the development of adolescence. The following part discusses contemporary areas of human existence that make it difficult to overcome the crisis of adolescence. The analyses carried out allow us to conclude that the classical educational method of the ideal, proposed by Jeleńska, can be effective in overcoming the crises of adolescence.
