Research Paradigms in Family Studies in the Context of Contemporary Methodological Discourses in Pedagogy

Abstract

The article presents analyses of pedagogical paradigms and their significance in constructing the classifications of family studies paradigms. The aim is to show the relevance of pedagogical methodological discourses in constructing metatheoretical foundations of family studies. The article proposes an original classification of research approaches in this field. Research in family studies may be classified by situating it along two key dimensions, defined by opposing positions: objectivism – subjectivism and exploration – verification.
