Is The Holy Trinity “Democratic”? Science about God and Socio-Political Doctrines

Abstract
Authentic faith in God, revealed to us in Jesus Christ, presents an incarnate faith that in some way connects the supernatural with the worldly experiences. Political theology reflects on how theology can or should influence social and political life. Theological monotheism was used to justify and fortify the power of the emperors. However, such attempts at times resulted in the abuse of Christian doctrine for the sake of politics. The possibility of correcting political theology was observed in Trinitarian theology, i.e. in the truth that in God, unity always goes hand in hand with diversity. God is not only one, but also threefold, that is, He creates a community of equality and otherness. Thus, we can indicate a Trinitarian style that could also be applicable in the field of modern socio-political doctrines. However, it shall be remembered, that just as there was an exaggeration in the theological justification of monarchy, there can also be an exaggeration in drawing the analogy between Trinitarian doctrine and democratic systems. By engaging in social life, the Church needs – following the words of the book of Revelation – preserve the prophetic and eschatological dimensions and proclaim that Deus semper maior, that is, that any similarity between God and creation corresponds to an even greater dissimilarity.
