The History of the Journal

In 1949, the Learned Society of the Catholic University of Lublin started to publish journals addressing particular faculties in the University, inter alia, the Annals of Theology and Canon Law. In 1991, the Journal changed its name to Annals of Theology. The next change took place in 2009 when the Journal was divided into nine independent journals with new ISSNs, volume numbering and extra volume numbers referring to the original title. From then on, until 2013, the following annals were issued: Annals of Dogmatic Theology, Annals of Moral Theology, Annals of Church History, Annals of Theology of Spirituality, Pastoral and Catechetical Annals, Annals of Ecumenical Theology, Liturgical and Homiletic Annals, Annals of Fundamental Theology and Religiology, Annals of Family Studies.

In 2014,  the previous concept as a single and consistent journal with the former title, Annals of Theology was restored. The new Annals received a new ISSN and previous volume numbering. In the years 2014–2022, the restored Annals of Theology appeared every month. Each of them was dedicated to the following disciplines of theology: Homiletic, Dogmatic Theology, Moral Theology, History of the Church and Patristic, Spirituality, Pastoral Theology, Ecumenism, Liturgy, Fundamental Theology and Religiology, Catechetics, Theology of the Family, Social Work, Biblical Theology.
