Self-Compassion From a Parentological Perspective

Abstract

The executed theoretical and practical analysis enable the claim that the practice of self-compassion is in favor of the upbringing process. The self-compassion category consists of three components: politeness, common humanity and carefulness. It has common fields with sensitivity, self-apology and resilience which is explained in the text, in detail. The utility of self-compassion by parents has the positive impact on themselves as well as the children, among others in the area of emotions regulation, motivation, relations with other people, proved by the attached empirical research. The practice of self-compassion has the universal value and as such it may support the rise of upbringing quality regardless of education level, wealth or parent’s earlier preparation.
