Team-Based Translation Projects: Cooperative and Collaborative Translation in Dutch Studies at Comenius University

Abstract

This article examines the integration of cooperative and collaborative translation methods into the curriculum of Dutch extramural studies. It discusses the shift from individual to team-oriented translation practices, made possible by advances in translation technologies, and highlights the importance of incorporating these processes into translation didactics. Based on the  distinction between cooperative and collaborative translation, the article explores its application through a series of team tasks carried out with Dutch studies students at Comenius University in Bratislava. The focus is on the dynamics of the group translation process, the interaction patterns observed during the sessions, and the overall impact of the team assignments on students’ collaboration and the effectiveness of the translation process.
