Analyses of bilingual texts concerning the concept of ‘water’

The aim of the 75th volume of Roczniki Humanistyczne, no. 8 (2027), Corpus Linguistics and Translation Studies, is to draw attention to linguistic expressions related to the concept of 'water,' which indicates one of the fundamental elements of the world, essential for the existence of all life forms. Of the numerous ways in which water is understood, we highlight three: water in the Bible (Old and New Testaments), water as a subject of specialized research (hydrology, water management, water sports), and water in legal terms (water law, the right to water).

We invite linguists, terminologists and translators to submit proposals for articles containing various theoretical and methodological approaches to the analysis of bilingual texts concerning the issue of water: biblicalisms (collocations, phraseology, etc.), hydrological terms, specialized languages ​​related to water, legal regulations concerning water, etc.

Submission of proposals (summaries of articles, about 1200 characters with spaces), stating the aim, problem addressed, theoretical framework, methodology, containing 5 keywords, 3-5 selected bibliographic references (books/articles), the name, academic/research affiliation, e-mail address of the author(s), are all to be sent in Word or PDF format to lingrom@kul.pl.  APA citation MUST  be used, see https://czasopisma.tnkul.pl/index.php/rh/citation.

Articles proposals that have been accepted by the Editorial Committee can be sent to https://czasopisma.tnkul.pl/index.php/rh/about/submissions. They will be forwarded for evaluation by two independent experts.

Languages of publication: French, Spanish, Italian, Polish.

December 31, 2026: Submission of complete articles
February 15, 2027: Sending reviews
March 31, 2027: Submission of corrected articles
September–November 2027: Publication.
