Terms and relationships in the field of agriculture (plant cultivation / animal farming)

The purpose of fascicle 8 in this volume is to draw attention to linguistic expressions – bilingual terminologies and translations – relating to the broad field of agriculture: plant cultivation and animal farming. We will pay special attention to aspects related to the farmer's work, the growth of plants and animals that provide food and raw materials to other industries. Linguistic and terminological research in the field of agriculture is a response to the very current needs of improving linguistic communication between agricultural specialists in different countries.

We invite you to submit proposals for papers on issues in three areas: (a) terminology (methods of developing bilingual terminologies based on normative or popular-science texts and problems of semantic or word-formation relationships); (b) linguistics (general or literary language, including texts on everyday life and customs in the countryside), i.e. analysis of problems of polysemy and idiomatological units; (c) translation (variance and synonymy, neologism creation, translation strategies, transcreations, CAT, AI translations).

Language of publication: French, Spanish, Italian, Polish.

Paper proposals in the form of summaries (title and abstract ca. 1,200 characters with spaces, 5 keywords, 3–5 bibliographic entries, affiliation, Author’s e-mail) should be sent by September 30, 2024, to the Editorial Office address: lingrom@kul.pl

Editorial recommendations and detailed information on submitting articles will be provided to Authors whose proposals have been accepted by the Editorial Board.
