Theme 2026: Issues in compounding across languages and frameworks

Roczniki Humanistyczne 74 (2026), Fascicle 9: Contrastive Linguistics

For the upcoming issue of Roczniki Humanistyczne, volume 74 (2026), fascicle 9 Contrastive Linguistics, we invite papers addressing various aspects of compounding (including but not limited to recursiveness, headedness, syntax-morphology interactions, criteria for inclusion/differentiation) from a formalist or functionalist perspective. We also invite data-oriented contributions from computational, experimental and translation studies on various languages.

The papers not exceeding 40,000 characters in length should be sent to the editor, dr hab. Maria Bloch-Trojnar, prof. KUL (bloch@kul.pl) or to the secretary, dr Sebastian Wasak (sebastian.wasak@kul.pl) by 31 December 2025.

The publication is planned for Fall 2026.

For the upcoming issue of Roczniki Humanistyczne, volume 75 (2027), fascicle 9 Contrastive Linguistics, we invite papers addressing various aspects of categorization and categorial shifts (including but not limited to hybridity, clines, dichotomies, criteria for inclusion/differentiation)  from a formalist or functionalist perspective. We also invite data-oriented contributions from computational, experimental and diachronic studies on various languages.
