The Intercontinental Journey and Emotional Transformation in Herzogs Höhenflüge by Wolfgang Sréter

Abstract

Mobility as a contemporary phenomenon and its complex effects are being literarised and aestheticised by recent authors. In this way, the latest literature actively participates in debates about concepts of identity and values that explain the human condition. The answers to the questions of where people place themselves in the world today and how the meaning of their existence can be defined are sought on the basis of the (crime) road story Herzogs Höhenflüge by the German-Hungarian author Wolfgang Sréter. The role of the journey in the analysed novel is also explained.
