Abstract

This article is an attempt to analyse and interpret the drama Byk [Bull] by Szczepan Twardoch and its staging, directed by Robert Talarczyk and Szczepan Twardoch (Studio Theatre, 2022). The research in this article is focused on the reflection on motif of Silesian identity motif as revealed in the work and its dependence on the issue of resentment. The author refers to the understanding of this category as contained in Ewa Thomspon’s essayism, i.e. to the reflection on two types of roles assumed by the members of societies of post-colonial countries. The analysis of Twardoch’s text from this perspective allows for reflection on the interpenetration of national, class and psychological themes.
