The Innovative Approach of Design Thinking for Stimulating Creativity + “3s” in Students of Russian in Bilingual Educational Environment in Slovakia

Abstract

The article analyses the innovative approach of design thinking in the context of preparing bilingual students for the profession of Russian language and literature teacher. The relevance of the topic stems from the necessity to form a set of cross-cutting competences that determine the readiness of future specialists for a successful career in rapidly changing modern conditions. The author justifies the use of innovative approach of design thinking in the course “Fundamentals of Intercultural and Pedagogical Communication” attended by Slovak and Ukrainian students. The redesign of the course corresponds to the goal of upgrading the national system in line with the European Standards of Education Quality. The results of observation, the learning process, and a survey emphasize the effectiveness of the approach in stimulating not only creative thinking, but also other important skills such as critical thinking, communication, and cooperation.
