The Use of New Technologies in the Analysis of Disfluencies in the Speech of the Oldest Generation of Polish Language Users: Using Autocorrect as an Example

Abstract

The development of new technologies has an evidential impact on the development of research into the spoken variety of the language. The text indicates the value of using new technologies in the study of spoken utterances. Digital speech annotation programs have enabled new research quest ions to be posed and the rapid development of a separate methodology for describing spoken data. The development of corpus linguistics, in turn, enabled the collection and archiving of spoken data according to standards that ensure a balanced and sufficiently extensive research material. The text also presents a small fragment of spoken data obtained and processed in a digital program. This is a preliminary analysis as part of a project devoted to the determinants of the statements of so-called late adulthood, distinguished by healthy aging.
