The Eucharist as a Sacrament of Presence, Solidarity and Transformation

Abstract
In the context of social processes of individualization and detraditionalization there is a need of reflection on the axiological aspect of the Eucharist. The aim of the present paper is to show the dynamic dimension of the Eucharist as a sacrament of presence, solidarity and transformation. First the author presents the fundamental relation between the Eucharistic presence of Christ and the community of the Church. Then he points to solidarity as a social and existential fruit of the Eucharist. In the further part of the article he presents the meaning of the Eucharist that is expressed in its creating a chain of ontological transformations concerning the matter, the man and the world. In conclusion the author postulates the necessity to emphasize the role of the Eucharist as a sacrament of love and responsibility for the future of the man and the world.
