    Manuscript and Archival Sources Related to the Life and Work of the Philomaths in the Collections of the Vilnius University Library

    Abstract

    The project „Archiwum Filomatów – edycja cyfrowa”, prepared by the researchers of the Catholic University of Lublin, aims to represent online the manuscripts of the so-called Archive of Philomaths, which includes this organisation’s documentation and correspondence: letters exchanged by the members of this Vilnius union during the years of its existence (1817-1823). Nowadays, documents are stored in Lublin, Warsaw, and Vilnius libraries. This article aims to overview which other documents related to the lives and creative work of students Philomaths are stored in the Vilnius University Library, but for different reasons were excluded from this project. Among those are documents related to their studies, correspondence, and texts written by members of society in later years. Some documents can be found in different manuscript collections and are not easy to find. This article aims to inform Polish researchers about these units, some of which are already accessible online in the Digital Collections of the Vilnius University Library.
