Facts and People in the Giornali di Napoli by Domenico Confuorto

Abstract

The article focuses on the Giornali di Napoli by Domenico Confuorto (17th–18th century). The first part introduces the author and his way of reporting facts about various aspects of Neapolitan life and society at that time. The second part tries to answer the question of literariness of the work and the author’s view of reality. Despite their structure and the author’s narrow perspective, the Giornali are an interesting and alternative source on Naples at the end of the 17th century.
