Abstract

The article aims to revisit the works of Teodor Tomasz Jeż (Zygmunt Miłkowski), situating them within the context of 19th-century literature and culture, and within the scope of contemporary humanities research. The primary focus is on Jeż’s early novels: Wasyl Hołub (1858) and Handzia Zahornicka (1859). However, these works also serve as a starting point for a broader discussion on the originality and enduring relevance of Miłkowski's prose as a whole. The formulation of research postulates is intended to inspire further studies, ultimately leading to new interpretations and detailed comparative analyses.
