    The Ideas of Hermeticism in the Creative Legacy of Grigory Skovoroda

    Abstract

    In the article, the selected issues of the works of Grigory Skovoroda are considered in the context of the ideas of ​​Hermeticism. A comparative analysis of individual motifs in the works of the Ukrainian mystic and the relevant contents of hermetic treatises (Asclepius, The Kybalion, Thoth Atlant's Emerald Tablets) was made. This helped to reveal their typological similarity. The disclosure of this similarity additionally confirms Skovoroda’s deep ideological bond with the traditions of European mysticism, which also contains a hermetic component. Further research in the indicated direction will allow not only to draw attention to the under-explored aspects of Skovoroda’s creative legacy, but also to re-evaluate some of the established issues.
