Convention of Rectors of Polish Catholic Missions and Religious Provincial Superiors in Rome in 1971

Abstract

On October 21-22, 1971, the Convention of Rectors of Polish Catholic Missions and Provincial Congregations was held In Rome. The meeting was attended by Rectors: from England, Belgium. Brazil, Denmark, France, Spain, Scotland, Sweden, representatives of Polish priests In Canada, the Polish Seminary In Orchard Lake and Rector Polish Seminary In Paris, and the Provincials of the Congregations of Christ, Jesuits, Marians, Oblates and Pallotines. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Chaplains of the Scouts and Directors of Catholic Polis Youth Associations ZHP In England, Belgium and France.

The program of the Convention covered basically Tyree topice: the Activity of the Episcopate Commission for the pastoral care of emigrants, cooperation between the Rectors of the Mission, the Central Center and Religious Congregations, and the problem of the influx of New priests to rhe pastoral care of emigrants. An introductory paper on the activities of the Episcopal Commission will be delivered by Bishop W. Rubin. The problem of cooperation between Rectors of the Mission was extensivly presented bt Father Repka OMI, Rector of the Mission In Belgium. Cardinal S. Wyszyński, Primate of Poland, took a very active part In the meeting. Problems related to youth ministra were also discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the Reed for great er involvement of priests In the organizational work of the Catholic Polish Youth Association KSMP, the activation of existing circles and establishment of news ones.
