About

Focus and Scope

The Studia Polonijne covers fields of research such as History, History of Church and Sociology. It is aimed at presenting the origins and history of Polish diaspora abroad, their pastoral care and complexity of its contemporary problems. The Journal is divided into sections: The Articles, The Materials, The Chronicle of Institute, The Reviews of books. Each paper gives an account of various contexts of Polish diaspora. It was first published in 1976 in difficult times of communist-ruled Poland with the main aim of mutual understanding between Poles in the country and abroad.  During its almost 50-year-long history, Studia Polonijne has been bringing togehter many international scholars, from the United States, Canada, France, Latin America, Russia and many others countries.

The Studia Polonijne is unique and only one  journal in Poland focused on Polish diaspora, its history and problems. It is also highly specialized and dedicated to Poles living abroad all over the world. Because of its role of broadening the knowledge about Polonia among Poles in the country and abroad, the Polish language is used in majority of papers. The Journal supports strenghtening the ties between Poland and its emigrants, reminding them about Polish identity and culture.

The primary version of the Journal is a paper edition.

Studia Polonijne uses a double-blind peer review system. The manuscript author(s) do not know the identity of the two reviewers to whom the submitted article is sent, and vice versa, the reviewers do not know the names of the author(s) of the articles.Authors are asked to include the title of the contribution, an English summary, and the bibliography quoted in the article. The three mentioned items, along with the text of the article, will be sent to the reviewers when they are asked by the Editor to evaluate the contribution.

In case of contrary reviews, the Editor-in Chief appoints the third reviewer and his review is decisive.
