Teka Komisji Historycznej TN KUL, vol. 8 (XXIII) 2025

The Editorial Office of Teka Komisji Historycznej TN KUL invites scholars specializing in the history of the Church and Poland to submit articles with the general theme "The Church in Polish History. People, Events, and Breakthroughs." This topic is connected with several important anniversaries this year, relating to the history of the Church and the Church's relationship with the state in the context of Poland's over 1,000-year-long history. On the one hand, it is the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, a man who undoubtedly influenced the image of the Catholic Church in Europe. At the same time, the order he founded played a significant role in the history of our country. This year also marks the 640th anniversary of the coronation of Władysław Jagiełło – it should be remembered that this political act was also linked to the Christianization of Lithuania and its incorporation into the world of Latin civilization. Finally, 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of the Millennium of the Baptism of Poland, which became – due to the efforts of the communist authorities in the Polish People's Republic – an arena of rivalry between the Polish Church, headed by Primate Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, and the authorities and especially the First Secretary of the Polish United Workers' Party, Władysław Gomułka.

The editors recommend that articles should not exceed the size of a publishing sheet (40,000 characters); they should also have a summary and keywords (max. 5), and information about the author (academic degrees and titles, affiliation, ORCID, e-mail address).

Please send any illustrations separately in .jpg/.png format in an appropriate resolution (300 dpi recommended), properly numbered. The illustrations should be listed at the end of the article, including the author, source, licence, etc. We kindly ask you NOT to paste illustrations into the text, but only mark the place where they should be placed.

Detailed information can be found on the Journal's website: link.

In order to maintain the high standard of the Journal, the Editors reserve the right to reject a submitted text based on its poor content, irrelevance,  or the reviewer’s negative opinion.

Texts should be submitted in .doc or .docx format by May 31, 2026, at the latest at: ewamargo@kul.pl
