As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Our journal publishes original scientific works. All submissions are reviewed by specialists who are not affiliated with the author’s institution.

  1. The manuscript (text, figures and photographs) should not exceed twenty A4-format pages.
  2. Your text should be set in Times New Roman (TNR), 12 pt, 1.5 spacing. For emphasis, use italics and bold, but do not underline letters, words or sentences.
  3. The size of tables and figures must not exceed B-5 format (125 mm x 195 mm). Use 10 pt TNR for table captions and table content, single spacing. Any files with tables that you attach must be either .doc or .rtf format.

Layout

  1. Title in the article language (plus in Polish and English; this also applies to the summary and keywords).
  2. Author(s)’ name(s) and family name(s).
  3. Summary of 300–500 characters.
  4. Keywords: 6 should be provided to facilitate indexing and searching (in article language, Polish and English).
  5. The main text should include these sections: introduction, materials, methods, results, discussion, conclusions (or summary), and literature.
  6. The title and abstract (300–500 characters), as a translation of the summary, and the keywords should be provided in the article language, Polish and English.
  7. The address of the author(s)’ workplace, e.g., John Smith, Department of…, University of…, postal address, e-mail.
  8. Table titles and content, as well as figure captions and legends must be in article language; table and figure numbers must be in Arabic numerals.
  9. Measurements should follow the SI notation, e.g.: g·dm-3 (not g/dm3).

FOOTNOTES basically look like this:

  • All bibliographical terms such “page, book, part, in, trans., ed.” should be provided in the article language.
  • In general, titles of publications are given in the original or their translations into the article language.
  • If your manuscript has been reviewed, send us the reviewed/edited copy with the reviewer’s comments visible and the amended version via e-mail and a CD/DVD, plus your reply to the reviewer’s/editor’s comments. The main part of your manuscript (summaries, main text and bibliography) should be saved in a single file. Tables, figures, diagrams, photographs and other attachments should be included in their source form in a separate file, in an MS-Windows format (e.g. Excel, Corel Draw, Photoshop).
  • The authors are required to transfer their copyright to the Publisher and make a statement that the submitted text has not been published elsewhere.
  • The authors receive one copy of the issue.
