Legal Entities of the Catholic Church as Co-Implementers of Development Cooperation Goals

Abstract

The objectives of development cooperation encompass the scope of aid provided to the societies of other countries. Areas of activity particularly humanitarian, charitable, and educational also correspond to the activities carried out by legal entities of the Catholic Church as part of their mission. The analysis undertaken in this study assesses whether the constitutional principle of cooperation between the state and churches and other religious associations for the good of the individual and the common good extends to the international sphere. It is assumed that, despite activities conditioned by national regulations, legal entities of the Catholic Church are authorized to pursue development cooperation objectives, and these activities extend to the international sphere (despite the state-Church relationship in Poland).
