Research on the Prussian Annexation After 1989: The Poznań Perspective

Abstract

The author addresses the topic of the development of research on the Prussian partition at the Poznań historical center, which has traditionally been a leader in this field. He states that, in this case, 1989 is not a significant turning point, as new directions in research were essentially initiated in previous decades, especially in the 1980s. He points out that new areas of research have developed concerning the history of Germans and Jews, social history, culture and mentality, as well as new approaches to political history. The best period was from the late 1990s to the mid- second decade of two thousand.
