The subject of this paper is legislation against monetary usury in the interwar period in Poland. There is no wide analysis of this topic in the legal literature. Regulation in the field of monetary was based on the regulation issued in 1924 by the President of the Republic of Poland. For more complete outlook of the main problem the author presents sentences of court decisions and opinions of legal scholars as well as charts showing the maximum interest rates in particular periods. The result of the dogmatic research is reported together with conclusions derived from archival research. Scholarly analysis of the problem shall lead to more accurate knowledge of the interwar Polish legal system and will be a contribution to comparative study in contemporary Polish regulations.
