During his canonical visitations of parishes, Bishop Wyszyński noted their religious, moral, and material condition, the living and working conditions of the clergy, and also indicated directions for the future. The protocols from the canonical visitations (1946-1948) were prepared according to the following points: organization and course of the visitation; pastor; lay employees; spiritual condition of the parish; pastoral work; state of the church and sacristy; cemetery; economic condition of the parish; parish registers; temporary regulations; pastoral blessing. For Bishop Wyszyński, canonical visitations were an expression of his concern for the spiritual well-being of the particular Church entrusted to him.
